ATBC2008 : an attempt to be a fair and equitable meeting
ATBC2008 is becoming fair and equitable. The organizers are calling for donation and sponsorships. Contrarily, to many scientists based in countries with high income such as North-America, Europe (incl. Guyane in South America), Japon, South Africa, or Australia and New Zealand, a number of invited speakers, organizers and participants from Tropical Countries with Low Income (TCLI) often have difficulties to be granted to attend international meeting abroad. That is not fair or equitable. To facilitate their attendance, we therefore reduced the registration fees by 50 % for all of them when physically based in TCLI. The fund will also be used to support the registration fees for students/scientists from TCLI and the ADEKUS staff who is organizing the ATBC2008 meeting and the educational courses for students. The ATBC2008 organizers will attempt to help TCLI participants to cover their expenses with travel awards after peer-review of the submitted presentations. We expect the ATBC2008 meeting to be a fair and equitable cross-continental scientific event thank to your donations.
