Focus of the Month : BIOTA

Africa is far too often under-represented at international meetings because African scientists, especially students, are unable to attend remote location outside Africa ; the causes are well known : no visa obtention, lack of support, expensive fees and airplane tickets. Although we reduced the registration fees by 50 % for participants from countries with low income, because few africans (see ClustrMaps) will most likely attend Suriname in June 2008, a focus on Africa is nonetheless highly needed these days. Therefore, visit the website BIOTA (BIOdiversity Monitoring Transect Analysis in Africa), awaiting for the Annual ATBC/GTOE Meetings in Marburg, Germany (2009) and Arusha, Tanzania (2011).
