Gold from Americas - L'Or des Amériques
During the ATBC annual meeting, two symposia were related to goldmining, one about Minding and mending mining in the tropics (link), another about Global remote sensing imagery and products for tropical forest monitoring (link). After being presented in Quebec (link), the exhibit "Or des Amériques" is now in Paris. It has been adapted by the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle to include the consequences of gold-mining for the nature and human beings in French Guiana. We thus open a new page dedicated to this important thema for rainforest conservtaion in the Guiana Shield, but also world wide, with documents and various information.
