A year ago ATBC2008.org opened : 10,000+ internauts visited it
International conferences are important at both national, and international levels, but also at cyber one. ATBC2008.org not only was a website for registered participants (525 from 47 countries) but it also introduced Suriname and ATBC to the entire world, to a far greater number of participants i.e. 10,718 exactly between 10 october 2007 and 9 october 2008. Obviously, visits peaked before deadlines; we still continue to receive 10-40 different visitors per day; see below, after Google analytics (R). pdf
ATBC is international and ATBC2008.org received a total of nearly 23,000 visits fom 2800 cities in 154 countries and territories, distributed in 22 sub-continents. Internauts from all six continents finally 'visited' Suriname with a lesser 'attendance' from Asia, Africa and Pacific, in agrement with on-site participation. 
That is why our ATBC Annual meetings must travel. In french there is a proverb that says "Si tu ne vas pas à Lagardère, Lagardère ira à toi". If you can't attend our annual meeting, then ATBC will have to visit your country.
