Dialogue between Corporates, Biologists and Conservationists

A dialogue between scientists and corporates is urgently needed; after it will be just too late. As an introduction to ATBC2008 Meeting, we wrote "While the human diversity thrives, the natural diversity is threatened by current human activities and climate change. It’s time to consider the future of our natural heritage, and whether we can learn enough today for the long-term conservation of this heritage." This conference showed that a dialogue between Corporates, Biologists and Conservationists is now possible. We should go ahead and also work with politicians and goverments who are barely prepared to the mining boom in the tropics. We  recommend  reading  of these two papers :

New strategies for conserving tropical forests by Rhett A. Butler and William F. Laurance. TREE, forthcoming. See article by Jeremy Hance at Mongabay.com. The paper (Open Access Link: PDF is published in French, Spanish, Indonesian, German, and Brazilian-Portuguese.
