The last annual gtö meeting in Hohenheim focused on "Consequences of Climate Change on Tropical Ecosystems", and Pr. Dr. Peter Lemke (IPCC) gave a public talk on climate change, especially warning the audience about ice disappearance at North Pole. But who really cares ? As summarized by Mongabay.com, there is little room for such an important information in the Media today. Even if the North Pole is at the antipode of the tropics, ATBC and gtö members are interested. Indeed, what is happening in the tropical regions, especially with increased deforestation and ecosystem degradation, has important short-term consequence for the climate of the entire planet. Good luck mother Nature ! (image Google Earth)
