The Annual Meeting of the Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation

Acknowlegments

We thank Allan Li Fo Sjoe Acting President of the Board of the Anton de Kom University of Suriname for hosting the Annual Meeting of the Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation in Paramaribo, Suriname.

Jerrel Pinas, WWF Guianas Communications Officer, prepared the map of the Guianas that was used to draw the map on the brochure and the poster.

We met many times with people who listened to us, and were very helpful in the preparation of the meeting, even sponsoring it.

Nicolas Noël, the webmaster, dedicated some of his time to help us with html language during the preparation of the Beta version of the ATBC2008.googlepages.com site. The use of Google Page Creator ® free software saved lot of time in that respect. Odile Farjat, Editor of blada.com finally facilitated collaboration between the organizers and Disweb.fr.

Since we opened the first website in April 2007, ClustrMaps.com ™ kindly sponsored the one-year use of ClustrMaps+ Geolocation Hit Counter Product, and kindly answered our questions.

Claire Antonius, from the Marketing and Sales Department at N.V. Hotelmaatschappij Torarica, was very helpful and had permanent interest in the ATBC 2008 meeting.

Olivier Rouquet and Olivier Vuarnesson, Les Graphistes de la Main d’Or, prepared the original brochure and poster after a draft by Pierre-Michel Forget.

Sirano Tascani Zalman, General Manager of Travel Access Suriname and his staff, especially Mickael Hiwatt, prepared the field trip presentation and organize the trip schedule according to our recommendations.

Stefan Holzheu from EDV und Datenbanken, Universitaet Bayreuth, adapted the interface that is to be used for abstract submission and meeting registration. Michael Lakatos and Juergen Berger at University of Kaiserslautern greatly facilitated to establish contact between the organizers and Stefan Holzheu.

Many people from abroad contributed with the organisation of the ATBC2008 meeting, thank to them all.

Tropenbos International granted Rudi van Kanten, Director of CELOS and organizer of the ATBC 2008, to attend the ATBC 2007 meeting in Morelia, Mexico.

The Presidents of the International Society for Behavioral Ecology and the Society for Conservation Biology kindly allowed us to use the informations related to the organization of a meeting.

Thanks to all ATBC 2008 organizers for continuous enthusiasm and interest at each step of the conference preparation, and for friendship.
